This first one shows a few of us on Joe's bachelor party last year.

I'm at the back left, Riis is to my right, Adam to his. Leif is front left, Geoff is front right, and Joe is to Geoff's left.
Although not evident in this picture, CT was very much in our thoughts that weekend, as is shown in the following, digitally enhanced image:

Meanwhile, here's a picture from last Christmas showing Jonny (w. Sarah), my sister Kate (who may or may not join the league), me and CT:

And here's Rich getting the beers in:

That's it for people signed up so far. And I don't have pictures of anyone else, I don't think. Please feel free to add more ...

We now have 11 teams signed up for the super league, and 6 entries into the PREDICTION CUP!
So here's a bit more info about the latter:
1. It's a cup competition, with standard knockout rules.
2. Each week, 2 players will go head-to-chest, in the standard footballing fashion.
3. The goal (ha!) for each player is to predict the scores for that weekend's games.
4. I'll post the games to-be-predicted on the blog, then the two players for that week will email their predictions to me (so there's NO CHEATING!), and I'll then post those predictions, too.
5. After the weekend's games, I'll post the final scores and the outcome of the round. For each game, points will be scored as follows:
1pt if the outcome (home win, draw, away win) is correctly predicted, plus
1pt if the home team's goals-scored is correctly predicted, plus
1pt if the away team's goals-scored is correctly predicted.
6. The winner will advance to the next round. In case of a draw, I'll devise a devilish method for deciding the outcome.
Does that make sense? Any more takers? Anyone want to be first up for this weekend? The games to be predicted are:
Arsenal v Aston Villa, 15:00
Bolton v Tottenham, 17:15
Everton v Watford, 15:00
Newcastle v Wigan, 15:00
Portsmouth v Blackburn, 15:00
Reading v Middlesbrough, 15:00
Sheff Utd v Liverpool, 12:45
West Ham v Charlton, 15:00
Chelsea v Man City, 16:00 (Sunday)
Man Utd v Fulham, 13:30 (Sunday)
(Note to US participants: The home team is on the left hand side of each game listed, it's the opposite of the "X at Y" system of noting the home team.)
That's the spirit. Standing tall, being counted, etc. Who dares take on Geoff's might?
OK, great, we're off! Geoff, Helen, please email your predicted scores to me: nyeung +at+ cmu.edu
