This week it's a CSBMBSBMB all-stars, three-way, play-off spectacular for the last semi-final spot -- Riis vs. Alan vs. me. And, yes, regardless of what my spell-checker says, his name is really spelled R.I.I.S..
Jesus H. Christ, it could not be more exciting.
So here are the PREDICTIONs:

After this weekend's PREDICTION CUP -- SUPERNOVA!!!, the black holes were Riis and Alan, to whom we now say a sad goodbye. This week's shining star is me. The final score for the Riis-Alan-Nick three-way was 6-5-9. Sadly, Geoff wasn't here to witness my final triumph/skulduggery, so I'm sure he'll have a few probing questions to ask about the CUP on his return to Princeton. Bring it on, little man, is what I say.
Meanwhile, the PREDICTION CUP moves on to the semi-final stage. Arbitrarily, each semi-final will feature a BATTLE OF THE SEXES. Each game will pit feminine wiles (Helen, Dena) against male testoterone-fueled-mayhem (Syl, me). Let me know if you want to go first next weekend. If so, the games to be predicted are:
Arsenal v Sheff Utd, 15:00
Aston Villa v Charlton, 15:00
Fulham v Chelsea, 15:00
Liverpool v Tottenham, 12:45
Man City v West Ham, 15:00
Middlesbrough v Blackburn, 15:00
Reading v Man Utd, 17:15
Wigan v Watford, 15:00
Newcastle v Everton, 16:00
Yes, the EXCITING COMPETITION continues ...
Quiet around here at the moment, eh?
Syl, do you want to play in the CUP this weekend? Bear in mind that Helen has only had to beat Geoff so far, so is to some degree an unknown quantity.
BUT THERE'S MORE!
Yes, an innovation for the semi-finals is a new and improved scoring system!! And it's even more complicated than before!!!
Here it is:
You WIN POINTS for correctly predicting the outcome of a game (home win, draw, away win) as follows:
Home win: 12 pts
Draw: 14 pts
Away win: 16 pts
You also win a 4pt bonus if you get the score spot-on.
You LOSE POINTS (-2 pts) for every incorrectly predicted goal.
This scheme is shamelessly "borrowed" from another prediction game I'm taking part in, in case you're wondering, and it seems to work quite well.
Now, another thing you're probably wondering is how Geoff would have done had this new scheme been in place the weekend his arse was kicked by his kid sister. Well, given that the goal is still to accurately predict football scores, it should come as no surprise that Helen would have kicked Geoff's arse regardless of the scheme used.
Why not send in first goal time predictions -- can't hurt to have them in case of a draw.
