The phony war of words is over. Now it's time for ACTION. Here are this week's PREDICTIONs, courtesy of Doc Goodwin and Downers Grove's AMcD:
Birmingham v Man Utd, G: 0-1, A: 0-2
Chelsea v Fulham, G: 2-1, A: 1-1
Derby v Bolton, G: 1-1, A: 1-1
Man City v Newcastle, G: 2-1, A: 2-1
Portsmouth v Reading , G: 2-0, A:0-0
Sunderland v Blackburn,G: 0-0, A: 1-0
West Ham v Arsenal, G: 1-3, A: 2-2
Wigan v Liverpool, G: 0-2, A: 0-3
Everton v Middlesbrough, G: 1-0, A: 2-0
Tottenham v Aston Villa, G: 0-2, A: 2-2
Amazingly, neither of them predicted the 7-4 result from Fratton Park yesterday. Perhaps even more amazingly, and certainly even more EXCITINGLY, this round will be decided by Monday's game between Spurs and Villa. Hang on to your hats, cos this PREDICTION CUP is about to blow!!!

Third person quotes. Today seems to be a day for them:
Kaka, on himself: 'I feel as if I'm only beginning to reach my peak now so the best is yet to come from Kaka.'
Ronaldinho, on himself: 'Not Chelsea or Milan. I want to stay with Barcelona - that is my wish, that is the wish of Ronaldinho.'
I'm looking forward to one myself later today actually: 'It was a hard-fought victory, but Geoff is always a scrappy opponent in these early rounds of the PREDICTION CUP.'
Until that one arrives, any others out there today??
By the way, how do you post a new thread on this blog? Geoff seems to have lost his previous ability to do this.....
Nice work, Doc! I think it'd be a good thing if we all finished any statement we made with "that is my wish, that is the wish of [insert name]". That said, I think a more epic name adds clout to the statement, e.g.: "that is my wish, that is the wish of Slash Octane".
You should be able to post using a link at the top of the main Boot Room page, once you're logged in to Blogger with your gmail username and pwd. Does that link not appear in your browser? I vaguely recall CT having similar problems. CT?
(A 2-2 tonight would be lovely, btw.)
